Thank you all for bringing us smiles and testimony last evening. We enjoy every minute with you! You are a magnificent group of servants. We wish you transferees well as you embark to your new areas. Please write now and then – we will love to hear from you.
Elder King and I (Area Auditors) were recently in Ladysmith and these wonderful Elders helped us unload boxes of books from the car. We hear they are amazing Elders and doing much good in the area. We snapped a photo to remember them by and thought you may enjoy it as well. We are so grateful for their labors in the Durban Mission!!
Thank you so much for contacting us. It is really awesome that I have heard from so many of the people that Elder Payne has been working with. Africa has shown me a very friendly face by the actions of so many of it’s people. May the Lord bless and keep you. Sister Payne

Hey family!! first off!! I need Cassidy’s mailing address like pronto!! Like as soon as possible!! I have letters I want to send but hers has to be the first one!! So please, Please, PLEASE!!! Get me her mailing address!! I don’t know how much I can stress this, because it is very important that she gets this letter immediately!!
And yes we did have the baptism and it was awesome!! This past sunday though our branch presidency got released so our old branch president forgot to announce the baptism that was happening after wards! it was a little confusing to the new branch president, but we got things under control. Being able to walk into the waters of baptism to help someone else start making the covenants they need to with heavenly father was a wonderful feeling. Malipo Muhashale was definitely prepared and has a very strong testimony of this gospel. He has gone through so much and I doubt that anything will shake his testimony. Hes an excellent man and looks forward to the day when his wife and brothers are going to be able to be baptised. When we have more time I will send home his baptismal pictures. It was pretty cool actually… After the baptism my companion mentioned to the new branch president that this baptism was only the start of things to come and he was so very excited about that. Having an excited leader in the branch will make all the difference to those who come to the chapel for the first time and then get baptised. I love ladysmith and all the people that we are able to teach.
Actually this past week was one of the hardest that I have experienced. Our car died on Wednesday so we have been walking since then. Its been hard visiting everyone we need to visit because we cant get any where. I think its actually because we were baptising Malipo this sunday that things have been so hard. looking back on it, this was a great week because my companion and I have had a lot of really good bonding moments and are working very good together!! We just need to keep our chins up and find those who have been prepared. I love you all and I look forward to the Christmas package!! It would be nice to have a little spending money as well so I can get some things to remember mission by. Have a good week you guys!! Janessa you look tired haha. And Shae I still want to know where you are reading in the Book Of Mormon. Keep me updated!!

Hey family!! First off I got told by Suren to tell you that he is not an African, But a Napalese. haha second… Shae!! where are you with the book of Mormon reading?? I would really like to know!! Also… third I have something serious to ask… Mom Or dad (but preferably mom) could you get me Cassidy Duce’s home address so I can send her a letter? the sooner the better!! Im sorry that I haven’t sent any letters but I will very soon! I just need her address first and then I will send you a letter haha. AND WHAT ABOUT THAT PACKAGE I SENT?? I haven’t heard anything from you about that!! Have you received it and have just kept quiet about it?? but that’s not important really I guess. And I guess I do get enough food, But I just feel like im starving most of the time haha. Ive actually gained some weight which isn’t good!! I don’t want to be fat when I get back!! Just because janessa and shaelyn would never leave a fatty like me alone!! I don’t know why but if there is a fluffy ginger around, they are automatically the target for bullies. So im going to start working out so I lose this nastiness!! And janessa you will be happy to hear we are baptising someone this next sunday!! IM SO EXCITED!! we told him that he had a choice for who baptised him and he said “okay… I choose you Elder Payne!” Eish!! I haven’t baptised anyone yet!! what if he cant swim? what happens then? haha im sure it will be fine because like I said im going to work out so ill be nice and strong before sunday! (hopefully) Umm we have no other news to tell you really… Just that a letter like every month at least would be nice. Emails are great… But I do love letters from home. I guess you guys are punishing me until I send you a letter or two haha. Anyways we have a zone activity at our nice new boarding today so we have to take off!! but I love you guys and I miss you all!! Keep it real!! Elder Seth Payne

Janessa, why in the world would you want to try out for the cheer team? Don’t you know that you can always cheer loudest from the stands? But if its what you want to do then go for it!! Shae you are very capable at doing your job. Please continue to read the book of Mormon and tell me the progress of your reading if you would. I would enjoy that very berry much. Mom… Digs? what? I dont understand… And I do apologize for not emailing you last week. I thought your computer was still not working and that Devs would pass on the email. My father in the branch actually wants to contact you!! His name is Suren Ramraj and he is one of my favourite people ever. Hopefully by Wednesday he can send you at least an email or facebook message. He wants to see pictures of my family back home. And I think you knew this already, but President Reber is actually cousins with bishop Leavitt so that may be another reason why they are there. And I as well haven’t heard of any twinkling happening around these parts but if it does I will let you know haha. This past week was pretty good. We had our zone training meeting in Newcastle on Wednesday and they taught us out of PMG how we can improve our teaching styles. Im going to say… its amazing to me how many things I have been missing while I have been teaching and what I can improve on. One thing I noticed that I wanted to start doing is praying for my companion during the lesson. Like not offering a prayer out loud because that would be so weird. But offering a prayer in the heart is what it meant. So that will help in the work. Something else they mentioned was that we need to find places where we can drop “nuclear bombs of spirituality” so we can increase the amount of people that we are teaching. Ill admit, after the school presentations, we are always on our toes with people around our area. It would be nice we had another set of elders here, but for now we will just continue to work like a plow horse and have the endurance of a race horse. We have also started to teach an English class to people and I think to day or tomorrow we are going to put up signs to offer a free English class to people. Its going to be very effective I think. And very soon we are going to be having a baptism!! The investigators name is malipo and he is someone that has been taught for a long time But he feels like he is ready and we feel like he is ready. He actually told us that he doesn’t want to wait for his wife to be baptised with him because she is just slowing him down haha. The man has some courage!! So it will be nice being able to see him get dunked, But we have to continue doing Less active work. Its sad that some people lose focus of what their potential is for a little bit. Then we have to find and bring them back. And Janessa remember this. Our purpose as missionaries is not only to baptise people, but that is essential, But to strengthen up the church where ever we go. And Jesus Christ himself told his apostles to find the lost sheep of Israel. His joy and gladness are huge when we bring back a lost sheep which means less active members. And we are also to strengthen those around us. So if you see someone struggling you should do all you can to help them. Even if sometimes they can be cranks you should help them. I love the enthusiasm that you have for me to baptise people, But I did not come on mission to dunk people like oreo cookies. I want to strengthen all those around me and find those lost sheep. But keep up the enthusiasm!! I love it haha. Even though you aren’t a redhead you can be quite a little fire cracker. Oh and I was going to mention but I dont know what you people at home can do. Sometimes I feel like im starving because I dont think the mission gives us enough money for food. But I will just continue to get thin until I figure out a solution to my eating problem haha. oh and we had interviews this past Saturday and he told me that soon I will be training! So be ready for news about a grandson in the family haha. (just a grandson on mission though not in real life) I love you guys and I hope you continue to do well!! Seth Payne
